Quite frankly, I am an extremely satisfied participant of Humdrum having been a participant of Humdrum since 2018. Quite frankly, during my time as a participant of Humdrum I have always found them to be extremely friendly, helpful, professional and supportive of me. I love working with Humdrum. My son accesses multiple services with them and they have a number of exceptional therapists. All staff are friendly and helpful, and their app is easy to use. They provide wonderful support to individuals in an industry that can often be difficult to navigate.

When I heard that the only Humdrum Unicorn wrangler from Perth was moving, I knew I had to attend the first ever Pancake Day in the new location - would you believe that when I pulled up in the carpark I saw him wrangling the mythical rainbow unicorn of Perth, what a sight to be seen.

A Greater Community Vision Beyond NDIS Service Land
A Grassroots Community With a Big Vision
Founders Tim and Ben meet while volunteering in international development and disability advocacy in Mongolia. Inspired by their experiences on the frozen Steppe, they spark the idea for Humdrum.
Back in Australia, Humdrum is officially registered. The name is chosen as a tongue-in-cheek “anti-goal” for the organisation. The year is filled with business training, participant interviews, and NDIS registration milestones.
We create our first version of the Humdrum app—rough as guts—and test it with friends and family over countless cups of instant coffee and slices of cake. Tim gains 10kg, while Ben loses 10kg in the process.
Humdrum leads the first accessible theme camp at Blazing Swan, fostering genuine connections within the community. It’s here we discover our true mission: to combat isolation and boredom for both support providers and recipients.
We launch Pancake Banter, our flagship community event. This free brunch brings people together all walks of life, building bridges within local communities.
As Humdrum expands, so does the team. Working out of a small community center, we make do with limited space, often working shoulder to shoulder to meet the growing demand for our services.
We take a bold step by securing a permanent space—Humdrum’s new home. This hybrid office and community hub becomes a vibrant space for collaboration and events.
Our original app gets a professional overhaul. Rebuilding it was like untying fishing knots while replacing an airplane engine mid-flight, but the result is a world-class careforce platform ready for the future.
With a stable platform in place, we refocus on our mission. This year, we’re launching innovative events, training programs, and sector-leading initiatives to combat isolation and foster connection.
We are a Registered NDIS Service Provider with a community built platform that employs support workers for flexible services that don’t waste funding on middle-man fees.
No. As employees of Humdrum, you’re one of our staff and you’ll be fully covered for tax, superannuation, insurance and employee assistance programs.
Yes. At Humdrum, NDIS participants get to select their own support workers.
How it works is that once you’re onboarded you’ll post a service request looking for a support worker, people will apply and you choose the person you like most.
No sign up fees required, we would rather you save your funds for more support or therapy! Check out our pricing page for more info.
